Did you know...
...that Jean Piaget provided revolutionary insights into the cognitive development of children?
Jean Piaget, a Swiss psychologist, conducted extensive research into how children think and learn. He developed a theory that divided cognitive development into four stages: the sensorimotor, the preoperational, the concrete operational, and the formal operational. Piaget showed that children are not simply less competent thinkers, but think qualitatively differently than adults. His work laid the foundation for our understanding of how children make sense of the world and develop intellectually. Piaget passed away in 1980, but his work remains an essential part of developmental psychology. This poster honors Piaget's groundbreaking work and reminds us how our earliest experiences set the framework for our later thinking and learning.
