Did you know...
...that Carl Jung was a student of Freud?
Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung, two pioneers of psychology, had a significant influence on the 20th century.
Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis, emphasized the role of the unconscious, traumatic experiences and inner conflicts in the formation of human personality. His theories on the id, ego and superego as well as Freud's dream interpretation and sexual theory had a lasting influence on psychology.
Carl Jung, a close student of Freud, developed analytical psychology. Jung expanded on Freud's approaches by emphasizing archetypal symbols, the collective unconscious, and individual self-actualization. His concepts of introversion, extraversion, and personality type shaped psychology and also influenced areas such as art and spirituality.
Although Freud and Jung later had disagreements, their legacy remains deeply embedded in the psychological landscape, and their ideas continue to influence understanding of the human psyche.
